Open Stock

If you have browsed the internet and found other luxury linen e-commerce sites, then you have undoubtedly discovered a few who sell their bedding only in sets.  This is a wonderful benefit to the company because it dramatically reduces the number of stockkeeping units (SKU’s for short), and hence their risk of a “broken” inventory.  In those sites we have found, a typical “set” includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet and a pair of pillow shams, or pillow cases.

But suppose you have a king size bed, but you use standard pillows instead of king?  Or suppose you sleep “European style” with a duvet cover, but no flat sheet?  Or suppose you don’t like pillow shams and prefer pillow cases?  The “supposes” could go on and on.  Suffice it to say, a “set” does not fit everyone’s needs.

Offering the consumer his/her choice of exactly what they want for their bed is what we call “open stock.”  It’s a lot more SKU’s to deal with, no question.  Nevertheless, when you are shopping our bed linens, you’ll find every option we can think of.  You choose.  You’ll notice that we do offer sheets sets, but simply as a convenience in ordering.
